The thesis examination for a.n. Laurensius Luky Prasetya took place on Wednesday, 14 June 2023 at 09.00-11.00 WIB in Building J307 FPIK Undip. The thesis examination is the final stage in completing studies in the Masters Program with all the joys and sorrows of the thesis research that has been carried out to get the best results.
The thesis exam that has been presented is entitled “The Potential of Etlingera elatior as a Natural Deodorizer for Ulva lactuca Seaweed Brewing”. Based on the results of his thesis research, Luky explained that soaking E. elatior in steeped U. lactuca seaweed could remove the unpleasant odor compound in U. lactuca and turn it into the distinctive aroma of the product being heated. Soaking E. elatior extract had a significant effect (p<0.05) on the observed variables, namely water content, crude fiber content, dietary fiber content in the brew, impurities, total phenolic, RSA DPPH, and sensory tests on the brew (color, aroma, taste, appearance turbidity, and overall), but had no effect (p>0.05) on the observed variables of extracts in water.
This exam was attended by Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc., Ph. (as supervisor I), DProf. Dr. Ir. Eko Nurcahya Dewi, M.Sc. (as supervisor II), Dr. Putut Har Riyadi, S.Pi, M.Sc. (as examiner I), Eko Susanto, S.Pi, M.Sc, Ph.D (as examiner II) and Dr. Aninditia Sabdaningsih, S.Si., M.Sc (as Study Program Manager). Based on the presentation that has been submitted, Laurensius Luky was declared able to PASS with minor revisions (not changing the concept but changing or improving the format).
