Thesis examination by Dinda Lintang Sari on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at 10.30 – 12.30 WIB online (offline) in Building J Room 305 FPIK Undip. The thesis examination as the final stage in completing studies in the Masters Program which has been passed with various joys and sorrows to reach this stage.
The thesis examination that has been presented is entitled “Transmission of White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) from Blood Clams (Tegillarca granosa) to White Shrimp (Penaeus vannamei)”. In his presentation, he explained that the results of the WSSV examination showed that all test animals were infected with WSSV in treatment (K +), 23 individuals were infected with WSSV in treatment (A) and no individuals were infected in treatment (K-). The prevalence value of test animals given treatment (A) was 58.97.5% (medium-high category), treatment (K +) was 100% (high category) and treatment (K-) was 0%. Then the survival rate of test animals in treatment (K-) showed optimal results of 100%, in treatment (A) of 75% and treatment (K+) of 5%. Histopathological analysis showed that in tissue infected with WSSV there were histological changes in the form of necrosis, separation of muscle fibers or tissue disorganization and the appearance of eosinophilic inclusions. While for hematological analysis (clotting time) in the negative control group (K-) it was 11.36 seconds (optimal range). Blood cockles (T.granosa) can act as vectors and sources of WSSV infection in shrimp ponds through feeding activities, thus becoming an important factor in the spread of WSSV disease in polyculture cultivation environments.
Thesis Examination was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Desrina, M.Sc. (Supervisor 1), Dr. Ir. Haeruddin, M. Si. (Supervisor 2), Prof. Dr. Ir. Slamet Budi Prayitno, M.Sc.
