Febriansyah Hanik Dwi Saputri’s thesis defense was held offline on Monday, September 15, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time) at Building J307, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University (Undip). The thesis defense marks the final stage in completing her Master’s studies, which have been traversed through various ups and downs to reach this stage. Hanik is a recipient of the 2024 MTCRC Phase I scholarship.
The thesis defense presented was entitled “A Chemometric Approach to Exploring the Metabolite Potential of Avicennia marina Mangrove Leaf Extracts from Various Locations.” The research findings revealed that A. marina is capable of producing diverse metabolite compounds, particularly the leaves, which contain a variety of secondary metabolites with significant pharmacological potential. A total of 618 metabolite compounds from A. marina extracts from three different locations were detected through metabolomics analysis using the LC-HRMS method. Based on the analysis results using MetaboAnalyst 6.0 software, PCA analysis showed a clear separation pattern among the sample groups. The metabolites 3-(Decylsulfonyl)-5, 8-tetradecadiene, and betulin were most commonly found in the Pontianak sample group, which have antiviral and dermatological potential. These metabolites are key metabolites that play an important role in differentiating these sample groups.
This activity was attended by Eko Susanto, S.Pi., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Supervisor 1), Dr. Aninditia Sabdaningsih, S. Si., M. Si. (Supervisor 2 and Manager), Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc., Ph.D (Examiner), Prof. Agus Trianto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D (Examiner). Based on the presentation that has been delivered, Hanik is declared to have PASSED with minor revisions (not changing the concept but changing or improving the format). Keep up the spirit to complete the revision to achieve a new degree and Good luck!
