Nurul Aziz’s thesis defense was held online on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesian Time) in Building J, Room 307, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University (FPIK). The thesis defense marked the final stage in completing his Master’s program, a journey that has been fraught with ups and downs to reach this point.

The thesis defense presented was entitled “Use of Gonadotropin Hormones on Gonad Development Rate and Physiological Responses of Potential Snakehead Broodstock.” His presentation explained that administration of gonadotropins (PMSG + antidopamine) did not significantly affect somatic growth (weight), IHS, IGS, or fecundity. This indicates that no dose can affect changes in morphometric indicators. However, based on histological characteristics, a dose of 1.5 mL/kg was able to promote gonadal maturity. Administration of gonadotropins (PMSG + antidopamine) can stimulate gonadal development based on histological observations, with the highest phase reaching phase III (TKG III). There was no significant development of the liver and gonads after hormone administration, but histologically, there were differences between each treatment. Higher doses showed abnormal liver conditions, characterized by increasingly irregular hepatocytes and even hyperemia.

Thesis Examination was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Slamet Budi Prayitno, MSc (Supervisor 1), Alfabetian Harjuno Condro Haditomo, S.Pi., M.Sc., Ph.D (Supervisor 2), Prof. Dr. Ir. Sri Rejeki, MSc (Examiner), Dr. Ir. Sri Hastuti, M.Si (Examiner), Dr. Aninditia Sabdaningsih, S.Si., M.Si (Manager). Based on the presentation that has been delivered, Nurul Aziz is declared PASSED with minor revisions (not changing the concept but changing or improving the format). Keep up the spirit to complete the revision to achieve a new degree and Good luck!
