Thesis examination by Rizqina Nafa Nur Azzahra on Wednesday, August 14 2024 at 08.00-10.00 WIB offline in Building J304 FPIK Undip. Brother Rizqina is a 2023 Masters student in the Aquatic Resources Management study program, Fast Track Program. The thesis examination is the final stage in completing studies in the Master’s Program which has been through various ups and downs to reach this stage.
The thesis exam that has been presented is entitled “Stock Analysis of Crab (Portunus pelagicus, Linnaeus 1758) and Management Strategy in Rembang Waters, Central Java”. Based on the research results, the ratio of male and female crabs in the overall study was found to be 1: 0.965, indicating that the ratio of the number of male and female crabs was in balanced condition (no significant difference). The fishing mortality (F) values for male and female crabs were respectively 3.02/year and 0.11/year, while the exploitation rates were 0.69 and 0.11. The condition of male crabs in Rembang waters shows that they are overexploited, while female crabs are in moderate condition. An alternative management strategy is optimizing the use of crab fishing gear in accordance with government regulations effectively and increasing the number of crab apartments in each Rembang coastal village by involving fishermen groups in its management; Optimizing the use of government assistance for community groups as a whole and maximizing the sorting of small crabs carried out by the miniplant so that they comply with applicable criteria.
